Work with me: online sports nutrition for fighters
Fixed scope, written deliverables, no open-ended coaching. You pay, you get the document, the job is closed.
Not sure you need this at all? I wrote a page on when not to hire a nutritionist, and it is most of that page.
Everything below is done remotely, except fight week in camp. I am a sports nutritionist, I work with athletes wherever they train, and I travel into camps when the work needs me in the room. The work is sports nutrition and performance consulting. I do not diagnose or treat medical conditions, and anything medical goes to your doctor. The deliverables are written documents and scheduled calls, in English, Ukrainian or Russian.
The system was built in world title camps, but most of the people I work with are not world champions. A large part of my week is amateurs and young professionals, and that is on purpose: the arithmetic of making weight does not change with the level on your record. The same calculation that runs a title camp runs a regional show. What changes is how much margin you have when it goes wrong.
Oleksandr Foka — sports nutritionist.
Has worked in world title camps with Oleksandr Usyk, Oleksandr Gvozdyk, Denys Berinchyk, Vladyslav Sirenko, Murodjon Ahmadaliev, Israil Madrimov, Sergiy Bogachuk, Sabirzhan Akkalykov and Abylaikhan Zhussupov, and with the Kazakhstan national boxing team and with Kazakhstan judo athletes. Currently on the WTA tour.
From amateur tournaments to undisputed world title fights, no athlete he has prepared has missed weight.
Wrestled freestyle from the age of four until 22, competing as a medallist and champion at Ukrainian and international level. Has worked with amateur boxers since 2017, including champions and medallists at world championships.
Over a decade in professional sport. Every product certified before it enters a camp, every batch logged, the paperwork in place before anyone asks for it.
For fighters
Before you pay
- Dates. You confirm that the date you gave me is correct and that there is enough time before it. If you are not sure, ask first and I will tell you.
- What you are buying. A written plan for one athlete, delivered by email. Not day-to-day coaching, and not a medical service.
- The weight. The plan is built inside the rules of your federation. If the class you want is not safely reachable, I will say so and build the plan around the one that is.
- Under 18. Work for an athlete under 18 runs through a parent, with the coach informed, and contains no weight-loss targets.
- Refunds. Full refund until I confirm by email that I am starting. After that the fee is not refundable.
Paying confirms you have read this. The full terms are on the refunds page.
Supplement & contract check
You send a product, a brand, or a sponsorship contract. You get a written verdict before you take it or sign it.
- Manufacturer, certification status and batch documentation
- Every listed ingredient screened against the prohibited list
- Written verdict: use, replace, or do not touch
- Turnaround: 48 hours
Not a laboratory analysis. This assesses risk from documentation and public information, and it cannot prove the absence of a prohibited substance in a specific tub.
Full refund until I confirm by email that I am starting. Refund terms
Consultation, 60 minutes
One call. You bring the questions, I answer them. For fighters and coaches who want to talk something through rather than receive a plan.
- Video or phone, in English, Ukrainian or Russian
- Written summary of what we agreed, sent afterwards
This is a conversation. If you want the numbers and the day-by-day protocol, take the weight cut plan instead: it costs more and delivers more.
Full refund if you cancel more than 24 hours before the call. Refund terms
Fight weight cut plan
One fight, one written protocol, built backwards from your weigh-in date.
- Phase-by-phase cut plan from where you are now to the scale
- Weekly checkpoint weights with dates
- Fight week day by day, and the final 24 hours on a clock
- Rehydration and refuel protocol for after the scale
Everything included
- Weigh-in format read and the whole plan recalculated for it, because day-before and same-day are different jobs
- Supplements for the cut window: certified products only, with batch guidance
- A contamination check on whatever you are already taking, before it goes near fight week
- The plan recalculated when the weight stops moving on schedule, which is the part I am usually hired for
- Two rounds of written questions included
You run the plan yourself. This is a written protocol without day-to-day coaching: no check-in calls, no daily messaging. That is deliberate: a plan you can execute without me is worth more than one that needs me every morning.
Needs at least 4 weeks before the weigh-in. Shorter than that and the only thing left to build is damage control.
Full refund until I confirm by email that I am starting. Refund terms
Full camp nutrition plan
The whole camp, from the first week to the first bell. Built for the camps that are not straightforward.
- Phase-by-phase nutrition across 8–10 weeks, matched to your training load
- Weekly menus with portions and a shopping list, rebuilt as the phase changes
- Hard day, moderate day and rest day built separately
- Fight week, the weight cut, rehydration and fight day
- Weekly written check-ins through camp
Everything included
- The plan rebuilt whenever the weight stops moving, or moves faster than it should. Anyone can run a cut that goes to plan; I get called for the ones that do not
- A written review of bloodwork at the start and again at the end, where your physician has ordered it. Markers are read by a doctor; my part is adjusting the plan around what they report
- Supplement protocol: certified products only, with batch logging
- A contamination check on everything you are already taking
- Weigh-in format read and the whole plan built for it from day one
- Fight day timing, including what to do when the card runs late
- Two rounds of written questions on each document
Away camps and travel blocks are handled separately. The problems are different: a kitchen you do not control, a body clock that no longer matches the schedule. So is the price. Tell me the dates when you enquire.
Limited number of camps per month. If the dates are taken, I will say so rather than take the money and do it badly.
Request this →First five clients for each remote service: reduced rate in exchange for a written review and permission to use the result as a case study. Say so when you enquire.
For fighters, in person
Fight week, in camp
I join the camp for the final week before the weigh-in and run the cut on site.
- The fight weight cut plan built first, so the week starts from numbers
- Daily weights and adjustments on site
- The weigh-in, and the refuel protocol after the scale
- Fight day timing until the first bell
Travel and accommodation are paid separately. I take only a few of these a year, so the dates have to fit before anything is agreed.

Private programme
Individual nutrition and weight management for people who are not professional athletes, run on the same system as a fight camp. Physiology does not know what you do for a living.
This includes people losing weight on a prescribed injection, where the job is protecting muscle and micronutrients while the drug does the rest.
For teams, gyms and federations
If you are deciding whether an organisation needs this at all, start here. What a staff can put in place without me, and the reasoning behind each of these, is set out free on the coaches page.
Anti-doping education is an obligation for organisations under the World Anti-Doping Code, and most of it gets delivered with generic material that has nothing to do with combat sports. This is the same work, done properly and specifically for fighters.
Team supplement audit
Everything your athletes are currently taking, checked and documented.
- Up to 10 products, written verdict on each
- A written protocol for what enters the camp and how it is logged
- A list of certified replacements for anything that fails
Anti-doping programme for a team
Scoped to the organisation, quoted individually.
- Seminars for athletes and for support personnel, delivered separately
- A written supplement and documentation protocol for the team
- Ongoing vetting: you send products and contracts, you get verdicts
- Nutrition and weight management review for the squad
Common questions
You enquire, I confirm I can take the job and by when, then you pay. Nothing upfront before I have looked at your situation. The two smaller services, the supplement and contract check and the consultation, you can pay for directly with the buttons above if you would rather not wait.
For a full camp plan, yes. For a weight cut plan, 4 weeks is the minimum I will take. Under that I will tell you honestly that there is no plan left to build.
Yes. Amateurs often carry more risk than professionals, because nobody is watching the cut and same-day weigh-ins leave no recovery window.
English, Ukrainian or Russian. Written deliverables in English by default.
No. If the timeline is unsafe or the job is outside what I do well, I will say so and refund anything already paid.
